Nordwald Nature Park

The natural park Nordwald with an area of 750 hectares located on the west edge of the Waldviertler highlands in fractions Großpertholz and Karl pen in the village of Bad Großpertholz in district Gmünd in Lower Austria.

The Nordwald Nature Park encompasses an extensive forest area. In addition to dense coniferous forests, the protected area also consists of arable and meadow corridors, quiet ponds and raised bog landscapes, which give the nature park a Nordic - Scandinavian character. In addition to peat moss, Icelandic moss, round-leaved sundew and dwarf birch, the area is also home to black grouse, capercaillie and various species of insects.
