Schmittenhöhe
The Schmittenhöhe is a mountain with a height of 1965 m above sea level. A. on the eastern edge of the Kitzbühel Alps.
It is the local mountain of the district capital Zell am See, from where a cable car, built by Adolf Bleichert & Co. in 1927 and renovated several times, leads to the summit. You have a view of over 30 three-thousand-meter peaks as well as Lake Zell, the basin and the Saalachtal.
The Schmittenhöhe has slopes for winter sports. Many cross-country flights with a paraglider start from the Schmittenhöhe into the Pinzgau, which enables long flights due to its east-west orientation and straight course.
